Boileau, Paul

BOILEAU, Paul (1906-1989), a native of Quebec City, was born on 31 May 1906 and graduated from the Ecole des Beaux-Arts there in 1928. He trained in the office of Raoul Chenevert (in 1929-30) and was employed in the provincial Dept. of Public Works as a staff architect from 1930 to 1944. He moved to Chicoutimi in late 1944 and formed a partnership with Leonce Desgagne (see list of works under Desgagne & Boileau), remaining active in business with him until 1958. Few references to the work of Boileau can be found after this date; he died in Chicoutimi on 1 March 1989 (death notice Le Quotidien [Chicoutimi], 3 March 1989; biog.
