Berry, Francis Richard

BERRY, Francis Richard (1883-1950), a native of Lincoln, England, was born on 15 January 1883 and articled with H.H. Dunn, a local architect, from 1898 to 1906. He emigrated to Canada and worked in Toronto as assistant to G.W. Gouinlock (in 1906-15) and with Sharp & Horner (in 1920-22). He also practiced under his own name from 1912 and can be linked with a few independent commissions which he completed while working as a draftsman for J.M. Cowan, for Wickson & Gregg, for Horwood & White and for Smith & Wright after 1922. No information on his work can be found after June 1932 (inf. Ontario Assoc. of Architects). He died in Toronto, Ont. on 27 October 1950.
