OAKLEY, Frank Page (1862-1943) of Manchester, England prepared plans in 1890 for St. George's Anglican Church, Beaver Street, BANFF, ALTA. (J. W17/19). Construction of the church did not start until 1897 when the chancel was completed, and it was not until 1901 that the first two bays of the nave of Oakley's design were ready for use.

Oakley was the son of Rev. John Oakley, Deane of Manchester, and was born in London, England on 23 October 1862. He served his articles with James P. St. Aubyn and James Brooks of London and then worked with J.S. Crowther before commencing his own practise in Manchester in 1887. His works in England included churches at Dearnley, at Heywood, and a design of the new Tower for St. Paul's Anglican Church, Heaton Moor, Manchester, 1901 (biography and port. in Tracy & Pike, Manchester & Salford at the Close of the 19th Century, n.d., 217; R.I.B.A., Directory of British Architects 1834-1914, 2001, Vol. ii, 278-9). Oakley died in September 1943 in South West Surrey, Co. Surrey, England.
