Beaven, John Frowd

BEAVEN, John Frowd (1828-1895) was born at Narborough, Leicester, England on 12 June 1828, son of Rev. James Beaven, who later emigrated to Canada and became a professor of Theology at King's College in Toronto. His son J. Frowd Beaven was active in London, Ont. and advertised his services as an architect and surveyor in the London Times and Western Advertiser, 27 Oct. 1854, 1, listing the names of 'Rev. B. Cronyn and D. Lawrason, Esq., London' as personal references. In 1856 he was in partnership with William Frazer, of the firm of Beaven & Frazer, Architects (G. Railton, Directory for the City of London, 1856, 83), but no information on their works has been found. Beaven later died at Niagara-on-the-Lake, Ont. on 10 December 1895 and was buried at the cemetery beside St. Mark's Anglican Church in that town.
