Beauchamp, Napoleon

BEAUCHAMP, Napoleon (1888-1969) was born on 15 April 1888 at Montreal, Que. where he attended Lachine College and later graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in 1915. He commenced practice that same year and served as architect and inspector of buildings for Lachine in 1915-20. In 1920 he formed a partnership with Dolor Cardinal (see list of works under Cardinal & Beauchamp), and together they specialised in the design of ecclesiastical and commercial works. In 1926 their collaboration ended and Beauchamp opened his own office in Lachine. He retired from practice in 1964, and later died in Montreal on 25 October 1969 (biog. and port.
