BASTIEN, Jean Paul Antoine (1892- ) was born in Montreal on 18 April 1892 and graduated from the Ecole Polytechnique in Montreal in 1917. One of his classmates was J.A.E. Cartier, with whom he was in partnership from 1917 until 1926. He maintained his own office in Montreal from 1927 to 1938, then joined the Quebec provincial Ministry of Works as a staff architect. He served with the Canadian Army during WWII where he attained the rank of Major, and then returned to work for the Ministry until 1956. Bastien resigned from the P.Q.A.A. in January 1962 (inf.
