Martin, Harry Dixon

MARTIN, Harry Dixon (1877-1951) was born in Loughborough, Engl. on 7 October 1877 and worked as a draftsman in various offices from 1893 to 1920. He emigrated to Canada in 1921 and later opened an office in Toronto in 1924, where he was joined by his son H.V. Martin (1906-1969) in the partnership of H.D. Martin & Son. From their office in East York, a suburb of Toronto, they designed several public and institutional works for that township, as well as private houses in Forest Hill and surrounding neighbourhoods.
