Dawson, John

DAWSON, John (fl. 1911-13), active in Vancouver, B.C. where he was in partnership with Milton D. Campbell in 1911 (see list of works under Campbell & Dawson). Their collaboration was a brief one, and the following year, in 1912, Dawson had formed a new partnership with William Aquilla Penticost (1888-1976), an American-born architect from Indiana who was active in the Pacific Northwest before WWI. The office of Dawson & Penticost is recorded from late 1911 to 1912, but no information has been found on their works after 1913 (City of Vancouver Directory, 1912, 701), and no biographical information on Dawson has been found. He should not be confused with another Vancouver architect John Wilding Dawson, active there in 1890-91.
