LEICHENKO & ESSER (fl. 1920-35), an American architectural firm active in Chicago, Ill. consisting of Peter M. Leichenko and Curt A. Esser. In 1931 they were commissioned to design a large brick factory complex for the Hump Hairpin Co., St. Anne Street, ST. HYACINTHE, QUE. (C.R., xlv, 22 April 1931, 65). The local associate architect for the work was G. Rene Richer. In Chicago their best known work was the 22 storey Art Deco design for the Narragansett Apartments, East 50th Street, CHICAGO, ILL., 1929 (A.I.A. Guide to Chicago, 1993, 412-13). They also designed a major commercial building at 240 East Delaware Place at DeWitt Place, CHICAGO, ILL., 1926 (Frank A. Randall, History of Chicago Buildings, 1949, 270, 369)
