KITCHENER, ONT., This architect was one of 4 designers who were asked to submit plans for the new Collegiate Institute & Technical School at Kitchener in 1919 (News Record [Kitchener], 23 Dec. 1919, 6). The winner was Stephen B. Coon & Son of Toronto, and his design was later built in 1922-23.
OWEN SOUND, ONT., major addition to the Collegiate Institute, 1921-22 (Owen Sound Sun-Times, 15 Nov. 1921, 1; and 29 April 1922, 1). Both S.B. Coon of Toronto and Robert McGiffin of Toronto prepared alternative designs for this large 2 storey addition extending 375 feet. The winner was McGiffin & Smith.
