Blaiklock, Frederick W.

BLAIKLOCK, Frederick W. (1837-1873) was active in Halifax, N.S. but no references to his designs have been found. Born in New York City he was the only son of George Frederick Blaiklock, the prominent builder and contractor of Quebec City, where he lived until 1852 when his father moved to Halifax, N.S. to act as contractor on the Wellington Barracks. Frederick died suddenly at Halifax on 25 November 1873 when he sustained serious head injuries after stumbling and falling while running to catch a streetcar (obituary in Halifax Evening Express, 25 Nov. 1873, 3)
